Vrattsata is a majestic gorge of the Leva River, at the foot of the Vrachanska mountain. It rises over 400 m on both sides of the road winding along the river.
The gorge is a symbol of Vratsa and gave its name. In the Middle Ages it was called Vratitsa (the Gate) because its shape resembles a rocky gate. In the past, the road had a strategic importance - not by chance, not far from it, the remains of the Vratishka medieval fortress (10th - 12th century) are still located.
