Built on the site of a small old church built in 1858, this spectacular temple is the result of a community effort. In 1865, the construction of the new church began, and the entire population of the city participated in its construction. With a lot of work and dedication, the temple was completed on July 21, 1867.
The interior of the church is decorated with stunning works of art, including the first icons painted by the famous artist Stanislav Dospevski in 1874. The frescoes of the church depict the Slavo-Bulgarian educators St. St. Cyril and Methodius, St. Prince Boris and Venerable Paraskeva. The dome of the temple is decorated with an intricate image of the Almighty God.
An eight-sided bell tower was added to the church in 1908 and an arcade/portico was added to the north entrance in 1930. The chapel was also detached later. These additions and repairs have been made over the years, with the aim of beautifying the temple and making it more suitable for the congregation.
