At the beginning, the route goes through a pine forest and after 30 minutes it reaches the Karierata campsite. A steep ascent follows and after 40 minutes the path will take you to the spring Mechoto kladenche (Mechata voda) with a rest area. Next is the steepest ascent to the Garvanets rock ridge, from where you will be able to enjoy fabulous views of the Vrattsata pass. A pleasant and easy half-hour descent to Ledenika cave follows. Along the route, information boards will introduce you to the various cave formations, the well-developed caves in Bulgaria, the most interesting caves in the world, as well as the threats they face.
